Samaritan House PartnershipSince the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Broadway has partnered with our neighbors at Samaritan House to provide three weekly meals to the residents and staff. Residents at this nearby facility are single men and women who have been diagnosed with HIV/AIDS and have previously experienced homelessness. Since their residents are among the most vulnerable to the virus, Samaritan House made the decision early in the pandemic to close their facility in an effort to keep residents and staff safe.
As vaccination rates continue to climb in Tarrant County, Samaritan House has made the decision to reopen their campus starting in May. Over the last 12 months, Broadway has provided 7,500 meals to the staff and residents of Samaritan House. Thanks to Chef Bruce and Devante Howard, who have prepared the meals, and to our dedicated volunteers who have helped with weekly deliveries: Jim and Cherry Langford, Chris Carlson, Becky Delaune, and Rosemary Hammond. Thanks also to the Broadway members and friends who have generously given to support this ministry, especially the Journey4Life Department for their early financial support of this partnership. As Samaritan House reopens its campus, Broadway will continue to look for ways to partner with and support our neighbors.
