Adult Education

Broadway is a friendly, lively, and diverse community where you can learn, grow spiritually, and get to know new people.

We believe the Christian journey includes being immersed in scripture, developing spiritual disciplines, and engaging the teachings of the Christian tradition, from the early church fathers and mothers to contemporary theologians. We offer a variety of adult formational experiences as vital and diverse as our congregation.

Sunday School & Small Groups 9:30 am

Whether you are looking for a bible study, book discussion, or conversation about the intersection of faith and social justice issues, there is a Sunday School Class or Small Group for you at Broadway! Some groups are formed around age and life stage, while others are intentionally intergenerational.

More important than any study or topic of conversation, we believe that this Sunday morning time is about having a group to share life with.

Congregational Care

In the Hebrew Bible, God says, “I love you, I have called you by name. When you walk through the deepest, darkest waters of life, I will be with you.”  We hope that Broadway can be the kind of church that offers this kind of reassuring love to everyone. Our community offers compassion in a variety of ways:

Shepherd Ministry

Shepherd Ministers call members on their birthdays or anniversaries of joining the church, write notes to those who are ill or confined to their homes, contact those who have suffered a loss, and pray for those who are ill or grieving. For more information email: Kristen Riggsby

The Blessings of Christmas & Easter

In December and during the week leading up to Easter, volunteers make blessings baskets which bring cheer to those confined to their homes and no longer able to worship at Broadway. For more information email: Bob Madeja

Grief Service

Do not hurry
as you walk with grief
it does not help the journey.
Be not disturbed
by memories that come unbidden
let God support you.
Be gentle with the one who
walks through grief.
If it is you,
be gentle with yourself.
Swiftly forgive
walk slowly
pausing often
Take time, be gentle
as you as walk with grief.
—Unknown

Each year we offer a Service of Comfort and Healing for those who are dealing with losses of all kinds, be it the death of a loved one, loss of employment, loss of relationship, or loss of direction.

Since 1995, Broadway’s neighborhood Agape Meal has provided worship and fellowship at a family-style meal for homeless neighbors, church members, and community volunteers. This meal isn’t just about feeding the hungry – it’s about creating time and space for us to build relationships that celebrate the gifts of all of our neighbors. Each week, the Agape Meal serves about 100 guests.

The meal is served from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. and welcome our neighbors and guests back around the table for a shared meal and worship together. To volunteer or for more information, contact Diego Román.
