BROADWAY CELEBRATES
Celebrating our High School Seniors: Ethan Baker
Ethan Baker graduates from Centennial High School tonight, June 2, 20201. Congratulations Ethan! We asked him some questions to tell us a little more about himself and his experiences at Broadway:

What has been one of your favorite memories while growing up at Broadway?
My favorite memory was going to the City Museum on the St. Louis choir tour.

Do you have a favorite song from your time at Broadway?
My favorite song we sang was “We Will be a Shelter.”

What are some of your hopes and dreams for the future?
I just want to change someone’s life for the better.

What advice would you give to an incoming high schooler in the youth group at Broadway?
Don’t be afraid to open up and completely be yourself.

A note to Ethan from his mother, Darla:
I wish you the strength to face challenges with confidence, along with the wisdom to choose your battles carefully. I wish you adventure in your journey and the humility to always help others along the way. Listen to your heart and take risks carefully. Ethan, you have given me so many reasons to be proud, but my proudest moment is telling others you are my son. Remember always that you are so very loved!

Volunteer for the Shepherd Ministry
The Shepherd Ministry is an opportunity for church members to volunteer in a meaningful ministry from the comfort of their own home.  Those who volunteer reach out to members to celebrate them on their birthdays or the anniversary of when they join the church by making phone calls and/or sending a note in the mail.

If you are interested in learning more about this ministry and a fun way to volunteer at Broadway, contact Kristen Riggsby.

MORE THAN ONE WAY
Grants Available for Members in Need
Many members of our congregation are feeling the financial effects of the COVID 19 crisis.  Some have been furloughed from their jobs, some have incurred medical expenses, while others have lost their livelihood altogether.  In an attempt to assist with the many needs arising from this crisis, funds from the Congregational Care and the pastoral care budgets are being made available for our members.

Each grant amount will be up to $500, depending on the need of the individual or family.  We are asking that members in need of assistance complete a simple grant application form.  Information from the application will be kept in strict confidence.  Our Pastoral staff will review the applications and make the grant assignments.

If you and/or your family could use some help during these uncertain times, please email Fran Patterson for an application.  Also, if you are looking for ways to help during this crisis, please contact Fran.

PPP Loan Forgiveness Update
Broadway’s Finance and Stewardship Committee is pleased to inform the congregation that our loan obtained through the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) has been paid in full, effectively converting the loan into a grant. These funds were an important resource for Broadway to continue providing essential services to our community during the pandemic as well as ensuring no disruption to our staffing and worship services. Money from the PPP loan was received through Frost Bank in April 2020 and will be realized in the 2020-21 fiscal year’s audit. Additional information will be shared at the quarterly church business meeting on Wednesday, June 23. Special thanks to Kathy Madeja for completing the required paperwork that helped us obtain full forgiveness on this loan.
