Baptism of Chloe Semple
Sunday, June 26, Chloe Semple publicly declared her faith through baptism. We are blessed to welcome Chloe as a member of Broadway and celebrate this important day in her journey of faith with her. 


 

Chapel Choir Tour 2022 
After two years away, Chapel Choir is excited to return to summer tour!  “Pilgrimage 2022 Chapel Choir Tour” left early this morning with 40 travelers, 35 singers and 5 adult sponsors/chaperones. Chapel Choir will be singing and visiting First Baptist Martinsville, IN, Historic Little Rock Central High School, Memphis and Nashville, Tennessee, and Arkadelphia, Arkansas. Please pray for safe travels and for God to be with them as they experience time together, meeting new friends, and working on mission projects at their destinations.

Justice for ALL Sunday mornings in July
9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in Fellowship Hall

Broadway’s ACT Council Education Committee invites you to a month focused on Justice for All during the Sunday school hour in Fellowship Hall. Each Sunday will feature a different leader and guest speakers. The sessions will be available to watch remotely via Facebook live stream with the exception of July 24. Email info@broadwaybc.org with questions.

July 3: What does “Justice for ALL mean?”  Led by Mattie Compton and David Grebel, Co-Chairs of the ACT Council

July 10: “The Theology of Justice” led by Dr. Dan Stiver, ACT Council Education Committee

July 24: Personal Experiences of Injustice Among Us, Led by ACT Education Committee

July 31: Gun Violence, led by ACT Education Committee and special guests

Worship Sunday, July 3 at 10:50 a.m.
This Sunday a string quartet from the Mimir Chamber Music Festival will join as a part of the worship service. The festival, held at TCU annually, is celebrating its 25th anniversary season, and is internationally recognized as a leading summer music workshop. The Chancel Choir will sing “Still the Lord of All” by Lloyd Larson. Ryon Price will preach from 2 Kings 5:1-14

Church Offices and Community Center Holiday Closure
Monday, July 4

The church offices and Community Center will be closed Monday, July 4 in observance of the holiday. 

4th of July at Camp Broadway
Camp Broadway is open to all Broadway members and their friends and family to enjoy the 4th of July holiday. Camp opens at  5p.m. closes at 10 p.m. Enjoy the spectacular fireworks display over Eagle Mountain Lake put on by our neighbors at the Fort Worth Boat Club. This 20-30 minute fireworks show will begin after sundown and is viewable from Camp Broadway. Visit our website Camp Broadway page for directions and details about the camp. *NO personal fireworks allowed on property.

All Church Fellowship Luncheon
Sunday, July 10 at 12:00 p.m. in Fellowship Hall

Immediately following worship Sunday, July 10, join us in Fellowship Hall for a churchwide luncheon. Everyone is welcome and the lunch is free of charge. The luncheon will be a great opportunity to fellowship and connect with one another. Measures will be taken to ensure safe, social distancing.

COMMUNITY CORNER

Agape Meal Volunteer Opportunity
Our Agape Meal has moved back indoors. We are so glad to welcome our friends and neighbors for this shared meal around the table and worship together. Special precautions are in place to ensure everyone’s safety.
 
Volunteer at Agape: With the move indoors, volunteers are needed each week to be table hosts and servers. The meal is served from 6:00 – 7:00. Volunteers should plan to arrive by 5:30. If you are interested in volunteering, contact Peter Nelson for more information.  

School Uniform Distribution
This year, Broadway will again provide school uniforms for school age children in the Fort Worth ISD. Students receive two white shirts, two blue pants, socks, and underwear. 
 
Registration is in person at the Community Center. Click HERE to view registration dates and times. 

What to bring: 
Valid photo ID
Child’s birth certificate or school verification
Clothing sizes for children
Those registering will be given a date and time in August to pick-up their uniform order. Contact Dawn Shepard with questions. 

Community Center Summer Needs
As we strive to serve our guests, the Community Center needs the following items:

  • New or gently used men’s and women’s tennis shoes or comfortable walking shoes (all sizes)
  • Cases of bottled water (summer heat and humidity makes this a dire need for unsheltered neighbors.)

Donations can be dropped off in the large blue cart outside the church’s first floor office or you can bring them by the Community Center, Monday – Friday, between 9:00 – noon. Contact Dawn Shepard to arrange a drop-off time. 
 
Please consider donating the items listed or making a financial contribution to help us purchase the needed items. Thanks.

Room In the Inn Volunteer Opportunity
Broadway will participate in Room in the Inn on Monday nights, beginning July 11. Each week, volunteers will be needed to provided transportation and meals for our guests as well as Innkeepers who can stay overnight. If your group or Sunday School class in interested in participating in Room in the Inn, contact Peter Nelson for more information.

Community Prayers

Please pray for Broadway’s children, youth, and adult sponsors as they travel to/from summer camps and choir tour.

Pray for our staff and volunteers at the Community Center as they provide groceries, sack lunches, and meals to our community. 

Pray for all those who work in hospitals, shelters, and our first responders. 

Pray for children who are not in safe homes and may be experiencing abuse or neglect.

Please pray for the two refugee families from Afghanistan that we are helping.
