BROADWAY CELEBRATES

Broadway Welcomes New Staff Members
We are excited to welcome two new staff members to Broadway.

Josh Lucas has accepted the position of Community Ministries Coordinator. In this part-time role, Josh will provide support and leadership for our weekly Agape Meal and our Room in the Inn ministry. He will also assist with the essential services provided through our Community Center. Josh is a long-time member of Broadway. He’s a member of the Chancel Choir and Broadway’s Justice Committee. Josh also works as a Security Officer on staff at Broadway and will continue in that role in addition to his new responsibilities.

.

Holly Alexander has accepted the position of Community Center Assistant. In this part-time role, Holly will work three days per week in the Community Center providing essential services to our guests. Holly and her husband, Dave, joined Broadway when they moved to Fort Worth about two years ago from Birmingham, AL. Holly is a retired Spanish teacher, and her bilingual skills will be an excellent service to our Community Center guests. Holly is a member of the Sojourners Sunday School class and enjoys caring for her grandson, Brandon.

Both of these positions are being funded by a pledge gift in support of Broadway’s Community Ministries. We give thanks for Josh and Holly and for the wonderful gifts they bring to our staff and community.

RESCHEDULED: Community Center Open House
Wednesday, September 7, 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Due to inclement weather impacts the Open House is rescheduled for Wednesday, September 7. We are still excited to offer this opportunity for Broadway friends and neighbors to visit and tour the updated Community Center. We have found creative ways during the COVID pandemic to continue providing essential services to our guests, but we have missed providing our guests with Broadway’s “Extravagant Hospitality.” We are thankful that we will soon be welcoming guests back inside to shop for groceries in our May Street Market or choose clothes in our Adult and Children’s Clothing Rooms. With mask requirements and safe social distancing practices, we feel we can welcome people safely back into the Center. We recently moved the Agape Meal back indoors and have resumed Room in the Inn during the summer months with no issues.

Much work has been done inside and outside the Center to prepare for our re-opening. The church’s Landscaping Guild has transformed the flower and plant beds along the Center’s entrance, and we have made improvements inside to make the Center more welcoming for guests.

We want to show off the progress that’s been made and update you on the services and ministries provided through Broadway’s Community Center. An open house for members and friends of Broadway as well as our community partners is re-scheduled for Wednesday, September 7 from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. Breakfast will be served, and we will provide tours of the Community Center. Please mark your calendar and plan to attend. Stay tuned to The Window for more information.
