BROADWAY CELEBRATES

Celebrating Black History Month
Living Stones is a familiar term, often shared with humor, at Broadway. As we celebrate Black History Month a new message in relation to living stones is shared by Pastor Darrell R. Hamilton, II from the Alliance of Baptists.

These are the living stones whom Jesus said would cry out if those who claim to follow Him would choose silence over shouts for justice! And as a Black man from America, visiting for the first time these centuries old stones, I could hear their cries harmonizing with the cries of my own people as we each continue to strive against the tide of extremist, militant governments….

….What I hear the living stones saying is to tell the story of the people in these lands. Tell the story of their families. Tell the story of their hospitality. Tell the story of their hopes. Tell the story of their dreams. Tell the story of their beauty. Tell the story of their resilience. Tell the story of their survival. Tell the story of their history. Tell the story of their love. Tell the story of who and what we have encountered.”

The Alliance of Baptists is an Ecumenical and Denominational partner of Broadway Baptist Church.

LOL Auction Items Needed
The annual LOL Youth Fundraiser event is a wonderful opportunity to support our Broadway Youth. This year’s LOL event will be Sunday, April 30.

The funds raised from this event go directly towards supporting our annual youth choir and mission trip. The success of this event is largely dependent upon the generosity of our church members. We are seeking contributions that can be auctioned at the event.

Do you have items such as jewelry, art, or exclusive sports tickets that you would like to donate? Or maybe you have a one-of-a-kind experience to offer, such as a dinner party at your home or a few days at a vacation property? We are also looking for individuals who can donate their professional services, such as interior design, financial advice, or personal training. All donations are tax-deductible, and a receipt will be provided for tax purposes.

Contact Emily Davis with your donations by March 10, so that we can plan and organize the event. Your support and generosity will have a profound impact on the lives of our youth and help them grow in their faith and love for Jesus Christ.

In His service,
The LOL Planning Committee
