ACT

“Act on what you hear!”

-James 1:22
The Message

The first book about the Church was titled Acts because the lives the followers of Jesus lived were full of faith in action.

Broadway continues the Church’s legacy of action as we strive for peace and justice in our community, nation, and world.

This page provides several resources for those wishing to know more about Broadway’s advocacy and actions.  Additionally, information is provided regarding Broadway’s various denominational and ecumenical affiliations and partnerships.

Jesus taught his disciples to pray that God’s kingdom would come “on earth as it is in heaven”.  At Broadway we pray and we work for the hope of heaven come near. We invite you to pray and work with us.

The Psychology of Christian Nationalism: Why People are Drawn in and How to Talk Across the Divide

Author: Dr. Pamela White-Cooper

Moderator: Ryon Price

April 21, 2024

Author Dr. Pamela White-Cooper joined us for Broadway’s book study discussion and shared her personal journey in writing The Psychology of Christion Nationalism: Why People are Drawn in and How to Talk Across the Divide.

Publisher’s Summary:

How do we overcome polarization in American society? How do we advocate for justice when one side won’t listen to the other and cycles of outrage escalate?

These questions have been pressing for years, but the emergence of a vocal, virulent Christian nationalism has made it even more urgent that we find a way forward.

In three brief, incisive chapters, Pamela Cooper-White uncovers the troubling extent of Christian nationalism, explores its deep psychological roots, and discusses ways in which advocates for justice can safely and effectively attempt to talk across the deep divides in our society.
