THIS WEEK AT BROADWAY
Committee on Committees Accepting Nominations
Due July 15, 2021

Broadway’s Committee on Committees works with nominations made by members and our new form has an interest/skills list to help match nominees to committees they may be a match for. Members can nominate themselves or someone else. Please consider serving on a Broadway committee or nominate another member whom you think would be a value to a committee. Fill out the online form here: Committee Interest Form
Forms can also be found in the church office. Contact info@broadwaybc.org with questions.

All Invited to Coffee & Fellowship in Room 302
Sundays at 9:00 a.m.

With the return to in-person Sunday School, Broadway has launched a coffee fellowship on Sunday mornings where you can meet up with other friends and guests of Broadway before your class starts. Coffee and pastries are served each Sunday from 8:45 – 9:30 in Room 302.

This week our coffee fellowship features delicious homemade pastries from our neighborhood friends at 3 Danes Baking  as well as regular and decaf coffee from Roots Coffeehouse .

Broadway’s coffee fellowship is a pay-what-you-can coffee house. Everyone is encouraged to do one of three things:

  • pay what you can afford
  • pay what you would normally pay
  • pay it forward, i.e., pay what you normally would, plus a little extra

Stop by Sunday morning to support these great local businesses, enjoy some delicious coffee and pastries, and fellowship with your friends at Broadway.

Worship Sunday, July 4, at 10:50 a.m.
This Sunday The Chancel Choir will sing “In Christ An Inheritance Is Ours” and the Chapel Choir will sing “Be Still and Know.”  Jane Andrews is our guest organist and Ryon Price will preach a sermon titled “John – Raised” from Mark 6:14-29

Masks are now optional in worship. For those who feel more comfortable with people around you also wearing masks we will have two designated spaces which require masks: back balcony and the last few rows of the south side nave for those with mobility needs. See an usher for assistance.

Join us for worship in person or via live stream on our website or on our Facebook page.

Chapel Choir Homecoming Celebration
Sunday, July 11 Following Worship in the Sanctuary

Our Chapel Choir Homecoming Celebration will follow worship in the Sanctuary. The Chapel Choir will be presenting a couple of pieces they’ve prepared while on mission tour, sharing testimony about their mission work in Fort Worth, and showing a slideshow of their work in the city to end the celebration. Please plan to stay and join us! Don’t forget to wear your senior shirt if you received one from your LOL donation!

COMMUNITY CORNER
June by the Numbers
June was another busy month at our Community Center as we continue to provide essential services to our neighbors and guests.

Here’s a brief report of services provided in June:

  • Sack Lunches: 1207 lunches distributed
  • Groceries: 208 households served (560 persons)
  • Agape Meal: 282 guests served
  • Adult Clothing Ministry: 95 people served
  • Diaper Bank: 12 families assisted
  • Rental Assistance: $1,350 in financial assistance provided

Due to low vaccination rates in the 76104 zip code, our Community Center remains closed to outside guests. Please continue to pray for those we served in our neighborhood.

Thanks to our great staff and volunteers who make these ministries possible and those who give financially to support these ministries and partnerships.

This year, Broadway will again provide school uniforms for school age children in the Fort Worth ISD. Students receive two white shirts, two blue pants, socks, and underwear.

MORE THAN ONE WAY
Grants Available for Members in Need
Many members of our congregation are feeling the financial effects of the COVID 19 crisis.  Some have been furloughed from their jobs, some have incurred medical expenses, while others have lost their livelihood altogether.  In an attempt to assist with the many needs arising from this crisis, funds from the Congregational Care and the pastoral care budgets are being made available for our members.

Each grant amount will be up to $500, depending on the need of the individual or family.  We are asking that members in need of assistance complete a simple grant application form.  Information from the application will be kept in strict confidence.  Our Pastoral staff will review the applications and make the grant assignments.

If you and/or your family could use some help during these uncertain times, please email Fran Patterson for an application.  Also, if you are looking for ways to help during this crisis, please contact Fran.

  • Fridays — 9:00 a.m. – noon

If you are hoping to meet with a staff person, we recommend that you coordinate your visit in advance.

Masks are not required for those persons who are fully vaccinated. Anyone experiencing COVID-19 symptoms should stay home. See our policy here

Summer Giving
Summer is the season of the year where our church’s expenditures often exceed our contributions. This year is no exception as we have already re-opened worship services and our church offices. Youth and children’s camps resume this summer and we continue to provide a wide range of essential services through our Community Center. Summer electric bills, repairs, and routine maintenance do not take a vacation. Thank you for your faithful support of Broadway’s ministries. Please prayerfully consider how God is leading you to give over the summer. Thanks.
