THIS WEEK AT BROADWAY
Ash Wednesday Service
Tonight, February 17 at 6 p.m.

Due to the hazardous weather, a shortened Ash Wednesday service will be shared tonight at 6:00 p.m. Last week, Broadway members received a special Ash Wednesday packet by mail that includes a letter from your pastors, a small bag of ashes, and an applicator. This will allow you to impose the ashes at the appropriate time during the service. Join us online for this traditional service to start the Lenten season.

View the service from our website at https://broadwaybc.org/live-stream/ or here on Facebook.

Courageous Conversations Available Broadway Website
If you missed last week’s Courageous Conversation with special guest Amanda Tyler, Executive Director of BJC, you may view it on our website ACT page. Amanda and her team visited Broadway in November of 2019 and held an advocacy training session for the community on the topic of Christian Nationalism. As this threat continues to grow and capture national attention, we welcomed Amanda back to continue the conversation.

If you are unfamiliar with this issue or would like to learn more, consider viewing one of the podcasts in the BJC series which covers the historical and ongoing intersection between White Supremacy and American Christianity. Click HERE to to view their site.

Contact us at info@broadwybc.org with questions.

Grants Available for Members in Need
Many members of our congregation are feeling the financial effects of the COVID 19 crisis.  Some have been furloughed from their jobs, some have incurred medical expenses, while others have lost their livelihood altogether.  In an attempt to assist with the many needs arising from this crisis, funds from the Congregational Care and the pastoral care budgets are being made available for our members.

Each grant amount will be up to $500, depending on the need of the individual or family.  We are asking that members in need of assistance complete a simple grant application form.  Information from the application will be kept in strict confidence.  Our Pastoral staff will review the applications and make the grant assignments.

If you and/or your family could use some help during these uncertain times, please email Fran Patterson for an application.  Also, if you are looking for ways to help during this crisis, please contact Fran.
