BROADWAY CELEBRATES

Welcome Broadway’s New Children’s Ministry Coordinator, Toi Mack

Broadway is excited to announce Toi Mack as the new Children’s Ministry Coordinator! This part-time position will lead programming at Broadway for children in grades 1-6.

Toi is a lifelong educator having worked with Clayton Youth Enrichment for 28 years. She currently serves as the Area Program Director/Cycle 11 Project Director. She oversees nine school age programs that serve 795 students with 70 employees. Toi has vast experience working with the Dept. of Health and Human Services and has working knowledge of childcare licensing requirements.

Toi came to Broadway in 1993 and has been involved in a variety of ministries, including both adult and children’s Sunday School. She currently leads morning celebration with the 1st-4th graders and teaches 4th grade Sunday School. Toi has helped with numerous children’s activities, retreats, and Vacation Bible School. She has also served as the VBS coordinator for the Navajo Mission Partnership. Toi currently serves on the Board of Deacons and is a Stephen Minister.

“Toi is wonderfully skilled in valuing and encouraging the individual gifts of children. She is naturally gifted at building relationships with children that will enhance their love of God and the church. Broadway will be well served with Toi working in this capacity.” Jennifer Davis, Pastor of Family Ministries

Community Ministries Pledge Gift
Broadway is pleased to announce we have received a pledge gift in support of our Community Center and Ministries. The pledge gift is $100,000 annually for the next five years. The gift is from an anonymous donor and the funds will be distributed to Broadway through the North Texas Community Foundation.

Money from this gift will be used to support and enhance our current services and ministries including the May Street Market, Adult & Children’s Clothing ministries, and the Agape Meal as well as mission activities like supporting Afghan families relocating to Texas. The COVID pandemic has also created additional needs within our community. Money from this pledge gift will also be used to initiate new ministries that promote charity, equity, and justice in our community.

We give thanks to God for this generous gift in support of Broadway’s ministries and mission. Keep watching The Window for more information on how Broadway puts this gift into action.

2022-23 Stewardship Pledge Update
Thanks to everyone who has already submitted their pledge card. To date, we’ve received 188 pledges with a total pledge amount of $1,269,552. This pledge amount represents 85% of our total pledge goal of $1.5 million.

This is excellent progress towards our budget pledge goal, but we still have work to do. We still need to receive pledges in the amount of $230,448 to reach our goal.

If you have not submitted your pledge card yet, there are three ways that you can submit it:

  • Go the GIVE page on the church’s website and complete the online pledge card
  • Place your completed pledge card in the offering plate on Sunday (cards are available in the Centrum)
  • Complete the pledge card you received in the mail and send it back to the church office

Your gift helps Broadway put our “faith and love into action.”

MORE THAN ONE WAY
Grants Available for Members in Need
Many members of our congregation are feeling the financial effects of the COVID 19 crisis.  Some have been furloughed from their jobs, some have incurred medical expenses, while others have lost their livelihood altogether.  To assist with the many needs arising from this crisis, funds from the Congregational Care and the pastoral care budgets are being made available for our members.

Each grant amount will be up to $500, depending on the need of the individual or family.  We are asking that members in need of assistance complete a simple grant application form.  Information from the application will be kept in strict confidence.  Our Pastoral staff will review the applications and make the grant assignments.

If you and/or your family could use some help during these uncertain times, please email Fran Patterson for an application.  Also, if you are looking for ways to help during this crisis, please contact Fran.
