BROADWAY VISION & MISSION
Broadway seeks to be a beacon of God’s joy and justice, Christ’s hope and reconciliation, and the Holy Spirit’s courage and healing love.

We are working to create a church and world where all people are welcome and belong in the beloved community of God. Through the ministries of worship, education, compassion and advocacy, Broadway provides a place of grace, beauty, sanctuary, inclusivity, and brave faith.

THIS WEEK AT BROADWAY

Broadway Shepherd Minister Needed
Many of you know about our Shepherd Ministry and have been the recipient of a kindness from them.

We are needing a few people who would be willing to join our group. The responsibilities are minimal, but the rewards for the minister and the recipient are great. Here is what would be asked of you…

  • Contact a list of approximately 10 people for one week of the month who are having either a birthday or church anniversary that month. This can be a phone call, text message, email, or card. Supplies and stamps are provided. Supplies are located in the front office.
  • Assignments would be one month on, one month off, unless we have a good number of new volunteers sign up, in which case you would be asked to contact people less frequently.

If you are interested in helping with this wonderful way of staying connected with our church family, please email Kristen Riggsby.

Thanks in advance for your willingness to serve!

We have started our Room in the Inn summer session where we host 10 men each Monday night during July and August. To learn more about Room in the Inn or to volunteer, contact Josh Lucas.

We also have our school uniform distribution scheduled for Monday, July 22 and Monday, August 5. This year, we anticipate providing uniforms to 500 students in FWISD schools.

Thanks to our wonderful staff and volunteers who make these services possible and those who contribute financially to support the ministries and mission of Broadway. To learn more or volunteer at our Community Center, contact Erin Cooper.

School Uniform Distribution
Each year the Community Center provides free school uniforms to hundreds of FWISD students. This year the event will take place across two dates: Monday, July 22nd and Monday, August 5th from  9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. To participate guests can preregister here. A photo ID & proof of student’s enrollment are required for participation.

Community Center Update
Over the last few weeks, the community center has hosted volunteers from the Chapel Choir and Missions on the Move. With their help we deep cleaned the May Street Market, shelved donated groceries, sorted clothing, and got our entire center ready for the summer. Additionally, VBS Missions on the Move assembled over 100 hygiene kits to share with the homeless outreach being done with JPS. Thank you to all the kids and adult volunteers who came to see us and care for our neighbors!

Clothing Room Needs: Our adult clothing room is in urgent need of men’s style clothing. We want to fill our shelves and ensure no guest is turned away. We especially need athletic shoes, t shirts, and shorts.

Our current needs in the May Street Market include:

  • Peanut Butter
  • Cereal
  • Canned Beans
  • Canned Tuna or Chicken
  • Soup
  • Rice

Donations can be dropped off in the blue bin located by the elevators in the Centrum or directly to the Community Center during regular center hours. Contact Erin Cooper with questions.
