All Church Fellowship Luncheon & Justice Committee Presentation
Sunday, July 10 at 12:00 p.m. in Fellowship Hall

Immediately following worship this Sunday, join us in Fellowship Hall for a churchwide luncheon. Everyone is welcome and the lunch is free of charge. The luncheon will be a great opportunity to fellowship and connect with one another. Measures will be taken to ensure safe, social distancing.

The Justice Committee will host a brief presentation during the luncheon after worship. Committee members will be introduced, they will share about their successful work advocating for the funding of housing units for people experiencing homelessness in Fort Worth and we will hear a bit about their next focus. Their main focus the time together will be hearing from you about current issues that have your attention.

Our Chapel Choir Youth Homecoming Concert is this Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. We look forward to hearing about their recent tour and mission trip as well as some great music. Plan to stay and welcome them home with us!

COMMUNITY CORNER

June By the Numbers
June was another busy month for our Community Center and Ministries. As the weather continues to rise, we are also seeing the need rise among the neighbors in our community for these essential services.

Here’s a brief report of services provided in June:

  • Sack Lunches: 1,209 lunches distributed
  • Groceries: 209 households served (608 persons)
  • Agape Meal: 370 meals served
  • Adult Clothing Ministry: 68 people served
  • Rental Assistance: $695 in financial assistance provided
  • Diaper Bank: 19 families served

Thanks to our wonderful staff and volunteers who make these services possible and those who contribute financially to support the ministries and mission of Broadway.

During these summer months, we need bottled waters to share with our guests. You can drop off a case in the blue cart outside the first-floor church offices or drop them off at the Community Center, 9:00 – noon, Monday through Friday.

School Uniform Distribution
This year, Broadway will again provide school uniforms for school age children in the Fort Worth ISD. Students receive two white shirts, two blue pants, socks, and underwear.

Registration is in person at the Community Center. Click HERE to view registration dates and times.

What to bring:
Valid photo ID
Child’s birth certificate or school verification
Clothing sizes for children
Those registering will be given a date and time in August to pick-up their uniform order. Contact Dawn Shepard with questions.

Innkeepers Needed for Room in the Inn
For the last two years, Room in the Inn has been suspended due to concerns about the spread of COVID-19. We are excited to announce that Room in the Inn will resume this summer and that Broadway will be participating during July and August.

We work in partnership with other churches to provide food and overnight sleeping accommodations for men experiencing homelessness during the hottest and coldest months of the year. Broadway will participate in Room in the Inn on Monday nights, beginning July 11.

Innkeepers are needed to stay overnight with our guests. Since all guests are men, our Innkeepers also need to be men.
If you are able and willing to serve as Innkeeper on a Monday night during July and August, please contact Peter Nelson to volunteer.
