BROADWAY VISION & MISSION
Broadway seeks to be a beacon of God’s joy and justice, Christ’s hope and reconciliation, and the Holy Spirit’s courage and healing love.

We are working to create a church and world where all people are welcome and belong in the beloved community of God. Through the ministries of worship, education, compassion and advocacy, Broadway provides a place of grace, beauty, sanctuary, inclusivity, and brave faith.

BROADWAY CELEBRATES

Welcoming New Acolytes
Two new acolytes have  trained and commissioned this past Sunday. Broadway’s acolytes are an important part of leading us in worship as they represent bringing in the light of Christ into our service and carrying the light out into the world after worship. Thanks to Toi Mack, Meaghan Semple, and Karen Perry who lead our acolytes program. Thank you for serving in worship Grace and Clara!

THIS WEEK AT BROADWAY

Agape Meal, Tonight at 6:00 p.m. in Fellowship Hall
Broadway’s weekly Agape Meal is an opportunity to serve in fellowship with our neighbors. Broadway volunteers are always needed, and this is a wonderful way for friends and family to serve together.

Volunteer Orientation and training for new volunteers is provided prior to the Agape Meal between 5:30 and 5:45 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. Meal service begins at 6:00 p.m. with a worship service from 6:30 to 7:00 p.m. There are several ways to volunteer: set up tables, serve meals, host tables, and clean up. Email Josh Lucas with questions.

Coffee Fellowship Sunday at 9:00 a.m. in 302
Join us for coffee and fellowship this Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m. in room 302. Enjoy fresh locally made pastries from Three Danes Bakery as well as hot tea and coffee from Cherry Coffee Shop of Fort Worth.

Worship Sunday August 25 at 10:50 a.m.

Sunday’s worship service will focus on the armor of God. The Chancel Choir will sing “O How Amiable” by Ralph Vaughan Williams, which is from Psalm 84. Guest choir director, Dennis Jewitt will lead in worship. Dennis is the recently retired Professor Emeritus of Kentucky Wesleyan College. Ryon Price will preach a sermon from Ephesians 6:10-21.

Called Business Meeting
Sunday, August 25, Immediately Following Worship in the Sanctuary

The called business meeting will be in the Sanctuary immediately following the worship service. A quorum of 100 members is required. This called business meeting will be held in person on Sunday, August 25, and all members are encouraged to attend.

There is only one agenda item for this called business meeting—a recommended change to Section 4.02 (1) in the bylaws regarding the date and timing of the annual meeting.

Currently, Section 4.02 (1) reads: A regular annual meeting of the Members shall be held on the second Wednesday in the month of September of each year for the purpose of electing Church Officers, Church Committees, Deacons of the Church, and members of the Board of Deacons, and for the transaction of such other business as may come before the meeting. The meeting shall be held immediately following the regularly scheduled Wednesday evening worship service.

Proposed Revisions for Section 4.02 (1): A regular annual meeting of the Members shall be held in the month of September of each year for the purpose of electing Church Officers, Church Committees, Deacons of the Church, and members of the Board of Deacons, and for the transaction of such other business as may come before the meeting. The date and time of the annual meeting shall be established by the Chair of the Board of Deacons and communicated to the congregation at least two weeks prior to the meeting.

This change is recommended because a quorum of 100 members is no longer practical on Wednesday evenings and to better encourage robust congregational attendance and participation.
